Sometimes the best ideas start as conversations between friends.
We first met while working at Shopify as part of a global team helping merchants grow their businesses, launch new ideas, and expand into new markets. During that time, we discovered two things:
We shared a passion for e-commerce.
We had the same vision for how merchants could grow smarter, not just bigger.
Even after moving on from Shopify, we stayed in touch. Our conversations kept circling back to the same themes:
How can we help merchants scale sustainably?
Why is international growth such a challenge for so many businesses?
What would it look like to build something of our own that brings the best of our experience to merchants directly?
That’s when the idea for Skalar Agency took shape.
We didn’t just want to be another e-commerce consultancy. We wanted to combine our Shopify know-how with strategic, hands-on support that helps merchants scale with confidence — especially when it comes to expanding internationally.
